The First Edition. 'Coronation Edition' on the jacket. Mild cover wear else a clean and attractive example in a Very Good jacket with some longish tears to the front panel, 1/2" missing from the spine panel and a small chip from the rear panel. Overall the jacket is attractive in mylar and quite scarce! The 'Holy Grail' of 'Mixology' Books! Rare!

Believed to be published in an edition of only 25 copies, this present volume retains the original publisher's dustjacket, which differs from the other noted copies in existence. This variant jacket is printed on rather fragile,thin, somewhat translucent paper, with pink and purple illustration and lettering. A unique example of this variant? Tarling's cocktail guide provides recipes developed and used by members of the Bartender's Guild and contains some of the earliest known recipes for a range of cocktails. A predecessor of the famous Margarita called a Picador using concentrations of Partida tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice and Cointreau triple sec. Very Good, some foxing to page edges, in heavily edge chipped dustjacket but which is 90 percent present.
