Black cloth cover has turned in spine caps and a very light bump to upper front corner but clean, bright, and overall in very good+ condition. Boards and spine are straight. Binding is tight. Pages are clean and pristine. Book has never been cracked open. Dust jacket has a sunned spine, light wear, a one inch abrasion where a sticker may have been removed, and very modest soiling but overall in good+ condition. DJ protected by a brand new, clear, acid-free mylar cover. We add mylar covers to all books with DJs to preserve the DJs and add luster to magnify their beauty. This rare find is in good + condition with some fading of the book's covers at the top of the spine, as are the red pages at the top. Please see photos to make a determination regarding the condition. The pages are lightly yellowed but clean and crisp with the exception of one dog ear and small stain on one page, and a red smudge on the title page. As well, the front end sheet has the price of $8 written in pencil. The binding is mint, and the book is solid. The dust jacket has wear and creases and minor tears at the top and bottom of the spine and at the top and bottom edges. The back top of the dust jacket has been taped. Rare book praise from James Baldwin on the back of the dust jacket. This is a stated first edition Borzoi book with the book club edition printed on the dust jacket.
