New York, NY: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1987. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The chance discovery of a ship buried underground for millions of years transforms the inhabitants of a New England town into one evil, homicidal entity. First edition, second state, with a full 1 through 10 number line but without the "permissions to come" statement printed beneath as a true first printing would have. This copy features the author's name in gold, though it should be noted that both the red and the gold versions are equally desirable. The book itself is clean with no writing, marks, underlining, or bookplates. No remainder marks. Not an ex-library copy. Spine is tight and crisp. Corners are square, and the boards are flat and true with only some light edge wear. There may be some very, very light browning to the pages as well as some light soiling to the textblock foreedge. Dust jacket is not price-clipped but does have some scuffing and light scratching, some minor edge wear, and some browning to the jacket flaps and white lettering on the front cover and spine. The inside of the jacket is also browned and somewhat soiled along the spine. The gold lettering on the front cover, which can be quite worn on these books, shows moderate rubbing. This collectible, very good+/very good, first edition/second printing copy is protected with an archival mylar dust jacket cover. Satisfaction guaranteed!
U.S.A.: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1987. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. A fine copy in a very good plus unclipped dustjacket. First edition first printing with "Permissions to Come" and a full numberline. A tight and clean unmarked unread copy. The dustjacket is unclipped and has just light rubbing from shelfwear--mostly due to the black background--a very nice copy.
New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1987. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Slight spotting on the page edges else near fine in a very good dust jacket with rubbing.
BEAUTIFULLY SIGNED BY STEPHEN KING directly to the half-title page without inscription. Mr. King's autograph has been professionally authenticated by James Spence Authenticators (JSA) and includes their ironclad full Letter of Authenticity (hologram sticker placement is on the letter, NOT in the book). First printing with full numberline on copyright page. Mostly near fine with clean bright and probably unread text, richly colored boards with nice corners and mild blemishes to the dust jacket. Some floxing on upper page block. Looks terrific with a new mylar cover. Expedited and international shipping are welcome. Signed by author.
