Philosopher s Stone Proof Uncorrected proof copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, One of only 200 copies to exist, and it is estimated that over half of the copies are believed to have been read and discarded by the reviewers who Bloomsbury sent the books out to, as Harry Potter was completely unknown at this time, prior to the publication of the first book. This is an unread copy in exceptional condition. A fine copy, with sharp edges and an incredibly square and tight binding with no bowing to the front wrapper. The page edges are white and crisp, no internal writing or marks of any kind. An incredible rare piece of history for any Harry Potter collector. This book comes with a red quarter leather clamshell box made made by the Chelsea Bindery specifically for this book. Chamber of Secrets Proof Uncorrected proof copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, One of only 200 copies to exist, many of which are believed to have been read and discarded by the reviewers who Bloomsbury sent the books out to pre-publication. This is an unread copy in superb condition. A fine copy, with sharp edges and an incredibly square and tight binding. The page edges are white and crisp, no internal writing issues of any kind. No bowing to the front wrapper, no creasing to the spine this book has hardly been opened, never mind read. It comes housed in a blue quarter leather clamshell box made by the Chelsea Bindery specifically for this book. Prisoner of Azkaban Proofs (First and Second States) Only recently in January 2025 a memo was found dated 14th January 1999 from Roz de la Hay at Bloomsbury Head Office. The memo discusses the print run and discloses the exact number of copies between the purple proof (being only 31 copies) and the green proof (being 150 copies printed). Previously to this memo being found, collectors and Harry Potter experts believed there were 50 purple copies and 250 green copies printed. These findings could mean an increase in value of both of these proofs going forward. First State (Purple): This is an unread copy in superb condition. A fine copy, with sharp edges and an incredibly square and tight binding. The page edges are white and crisp, no internal writing issues of any kind. No bowing to the front wrapper, no creasing to the spine, just a very small crease to the lower right corner of the front wrapper. It comes housed in a purple quarter leather clamshell box made by the Chelsea Bindery specifically for this book. Second State (Green): This particular copy is the green and later version in beautiful condition. With a square and tight binding and bright white pages this really is a lovely copy. It has very little wear to the spine, but does have a tiny crease to the bottom right front wrapper, otherwise a fine copy that appears unread. Internally, the book has no marks, dog eared pages or toning of any kind. The book comes housed in a dark green quarter leather clamshell box made by the Chelsea Bindery specifically for this book with bespoke gold lettering to the spine. Overall this is an incredibly rare set of all four UK proof books in fine condition.
