A twenty-seventh impression of the true first edition, with the number string: 30 29 28 at the bottom of the printer's page, with only "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" listed as 'also available'. ***A near fine copy in pictorial colour illustrated boards. The boards are clean and unmarked. Head and tail of spine very slightly creased. Corners sharp. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. The colours of the book are beautifully bright, with no fading, even to the spine. Page block edges clean without the usual foxing. Internally, the book is also near fine, with no inscriptions or annotations. None of the usual foxing - pages clean. The paper stock is lightly tanned as usual. No creases or tears. ***In a near fine colour illustrated dustwrapper, which retains the original publisher's printed price of £10.99 on the front flap. The dustwrapper is complete, with just very light rubbing to the extremities, mainly at the head of the spine. No serious creases, chips or tears.
