A fine, bright copy of the 21st impression of the first edition, 1999. Bright boards with just the odd light scuff and corner knock (though, you have to look hard to notice this.) No inscriptions and clean pages throughout, albeit a tad toned, more so at the page block edge; but this is quite normal with these early copies. The dust jacket is bright and not price clipped, although there is some minor edge creasing and general shop shelf wear and the spine is, perhaps, just a little sun faded (but hardly noticeable.) In all a very nice, collectable condition copy.
Dust jacket is a little chipped in places but is covered for extra protection. The endpaper and overleaf has pen inscriptions and a pen scribble (pictured) There is damp spotting particularly on the first and last few pages. There is some seperation on the title page, at the bottom of the leaf, but is still in tact.

A twenty-seventh impression of the true first edition, with the number string: 30 29 28 at the bottom of the printer's page, with only "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" listed as 'also available'. ***A near fine copy in pictorial colour illustrated boards. The boards are clean and unmarked. Head and tail of spine very slightly creased. Corners sharp. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. The colours of the book are beautifully bright, with no fading, even to the spine. Page block edges clean without the usual foxing. Internally, the book is also near fine, with no inscriptions or annotations. None of the usual foxing - pages clean. The paper stock is lightly tanned as usual. No creases or tears. ***In a near fine colour illustrated dustwrapper, which retains the original publisher's printed price of £10.99 on the front flap. The dustwrapper is complete, with just very light rubbing to the extremities, mainly at the head of the spine. No serious creases, chips or tears. Unusually, the colours to the spine of the dustwrapper are completely unfaded (please see scans). ***317 pages. 206mm x 136mm. ***'Harry Potter was a highly unusual boy in many ways. For one thing, he hated the summer holidays more than any other time of year. For another, he really wanted to do his homework, but was forced to do it in secret, in the dead of night. And he also happened to be a wizard.' (Quote taken from the first paragraph of the book) ***A twenty-seventh impression of the true first edition of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", in unusually near fine condition, in the original dustwrapper. Being such a popular children's book, copies of the early printings from 1999 in such nicecondition are far from easy to find now. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.

A UK 1st Edition, 27th printing hardback copy indicated on the copyright page by a 30 29 28 27 number line. - This copy contains a text block that has been printed upside down when compared with the boards! A rather interesting example. - Other than the text block issue, both the book and its dust jacket are in fine condition. The jacket has not been price clipped. - A lovely, if somewhat interesting copy.
