In the publisher's near fine book club dust jacket, bright illustrations, light shelf wear. Signed on the front free endpaper: "To Louis _ , with the hope that the hours spent reading this book on President Ford will profitably reflect the years I have spent covering him. J.F. terHorst." Additional signature from President Ford below inscription. Jerry terHorst (1922-2010) was the White House Press Secretary during the first month of the Ford Administration and a longtime friend of Gerald R. Ford. He resigned in light of Ford's pardon of President Nixon and quickly authored this book on the new president.
First Printing (stated). Flat-signed, in person, by Pres. Gerald Ford in ballpoint ink on ffep. Blue full-cloth (buckram) boards with silver foil-stamped spine. A beautiful, unread copy of this fascinating and informative biography of President Ford. Comes from a smoke-free environment. Includes many B&W photos. Flaws: very light scuffing to top and bottom spine edges and minor bumping to top cover corners only. NO markings of any kind - NO rem mark or ex-lib. Text-block is pristine, unbroken and perfectly square. DJ is lightly bumped at top spine edge and has one short (1/4") tear at bottom of both flaps. Price intact: $9.95. Protected in Brodart cover.
