Auf insgesamt 726 handkolorierten Lithografien, die von Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782-1871), einem Schüler Jacques Louis David, ausgeführt wurden, sind die meisten Präparate lebensgroß abgebildet. Die präzise wie auch ästhetische Darstellung verweist geradezu auf die vorausgegangenen Laboruntersuchungen, die Grundlage jeder einzelnen zeichnerischen Umsetzung bilden.
