Hbk square 8vo 29pp profusely illustr in color with music scores beveled green paper-covered boards (front and rear: two girls sitting on a log surrounded by a rose garland and trellis border) rubbed at extremities with the beginnings of fraying top and tail of spine (now in custom acetate jacket), gift inscription and prev owner's name neatly on 2nd front endpaper, light stain to lower edge of pages 14-15 otherwise a very good bright clean unmarked text and a charming children's classic.

Printed by Edmund Evans. Original light green papercovered boards with yellow and green frame encompassing four flowers and the title, with green endpapers. No internal marks or spotting. Mild rubbing to edges of corners, else a better than very good copy, unusually clean, bright and tight. Scarce in this fine condition.
